When in Cape Verde, you have to visit Monte Verde. It is the tallest mountain of Sao Vicente in Cape Verde. The elevation and prominence of this peak is 2,460 feet or 750 meters. In English, the Portuguese term Monte Verde means Green Mountain and it has a sub-humid environment. The mountain is home to at least 93 plant species and experts have ascertained that 17 of the 93 are endangered species. This is the reason why Monte Verde is within a natural park – to preserve what’s within.
