  2. Group mail software, site hosted only
  3. Reported elsewhere a company hosting one of my sites hit the delete key when their tech support (sterling for nearly 15 years) declared site "trashed" and ...

  13. Well, new host found, better specs less money, and only a few miles from home ... what's not to like?
  14. That said, the "goodies" package on this server lacks majordomo (yeah, not updated since 1996), but for a SINGLE group list I have managed for 25 years, it was bullet-proof, spam proof, and did the job (less than 1,000 members).
  15. BUT, I have never installed majordomo (instructions look okay), but am curious about newer products ... so looking for input. Also any context on aged Majordomo in current systems is also welcome.
  16. List needs to be double opt in, MEMBERS ONLY (helps prevent spam) and, as close to FREE as possible. :)
  17. Archiving and digest are NOT required, but won't say no if options are there (majordomo has same, never used them).
  18. Anyone with experience with GNU Mailman?
  19. Are there any other options out there?
  20. LISTSERV from lsoft (the product) is not an option. I will NOT move the group to g or y or fb. That's never going to happen. Paid third party group options are also not desired. List must be installed my server under my control.
  21. Thanks!
  22. Wow, not run into anyone running MajorDomo is many many years. Does your host have a control panel with easily installed software?
  23. Man, there are so many good plugines for WP these days...
  24. WP not a choice. :)
  25. Looking for comments regarding MajorDomo (which I have used for 20 years without fail, but never installed myself) and GNU Mailman (which I have not used, or installed).
