Who in Africa doesn’t know about Mount Kenya? It is the second highest peak in the continent and the tallest mountain in the country – of course, it is a landmark, a tourist destination or a place to explore for those who are not from the territory. It has an elevation of 5,199 meters or 17,057 feet and is considered a stratovolcano having being formed after the East African rift 3 billion years ago. UNESCO recognized the Mount Kenya National Park/Natural Forest which is within the mountain area as a World Heritage Site.
