Theres a little scientist in every kid. The innovators and problem solvers of tomorrow need a place where they are free to discover and explore as they build a love for the magic of science. He likes doing all the experiments especially the ones that include chemical reactions. This lab also includes so many different components - stem jr wonderlab can do so much with it. My 3yo absolutely loves this. It's sturdy well made and easy enough for him to use at his age yet challenges him appropriately to use his imagination to work out the experiments and come up with new stem jr wonderlab. We are so glad we bought this. This toy has many different little tools and things you can play with from learning how air moves, to conducting electricity. I love how easy this is for little ones to grasp the concept of stem jr wonderlab and other science topics at this age. The experiment cards are really cool too so that you can try lots of new experiments at home. The only complaint I have with this is that its made of a more flimsy plastic so you have to be careful to not put much weight on the table and lift when moving. It took only few minutes to assemble. My kids 7 and 3 and his friend also 7 played with it for hours, Its seems to me that older kids were more intersted because they get to create lot of cool stuff. They created snow, bubbles, volcano, vampire blood with ingredient we find at home like conditioner or soap. Also lot of scintefic and maths features. My 3 years old loves playing with maze most of time and try to create electricity. This toy has been used pretty much everyday at my house for last week. I know for sure what my niece and nephew going to get this holidays. There is a lot to do with this toy, but a 3 year old wouldn't get much of the benefit without some assistance from older kids or adults. That being said, my kids love this little lab. Several experiments involve food coloring, so we let those happen outside. Great toy, easy to assemble, and so far hours of fun. It comes with all the utensils and containers you would need, as well as a book of experiments that kids can do on their own with supervision of course. They have not stopped playing with it since it was put together yesterday. The sound effects are exciting, and the ability of trial and error designing the maze will turn them into great problem solvers and thinkers. It was easy to out together which was nice for me, took maybe 10 minutes from start to finish and all I needed of my own was a screwdriver. Watching his parents assemble it was very entertaining and they could not get it done fast enough. Now, for a week, he has been playing with it daily and we've found many things lacking. First off, I had to go over many of the plastic seams and edges with sand paper to smoothe and round them off. Where is quality control in manufacturing. Third, tubes for the air tester are so collapsed that they don't allow for any air flow. And now, after only a week stem jr wonderlab use, parts are starting to wear out and fail. I won't even get into the lame marble drop parts and lack of space to do much of anything. So all in all it is a sad disappointment for all of us. Assembly is simple enough but there are 4 small screws if I remember correctly and they were wrapped up in the bottom of a clear plastic beaker. Honestly, really easy to miss, but they are there. My children absolutely adore this toy and so do I. They learn and laugh at the same time, and that's wonderful. Even as I type this review the wonder lab is sitting atop a towel and they are simply moving water from test tubes to beakers and back again. First, which is completely unavoidable, this toy is messy. Lay down a towel and an old sheet if your kids are young because whatever they are playing with will be everywhere. Secondly, which may be a defect with mine, but the pressure gauge takes an astonishingly constant rapid turn that only myself or my wife can achieve. I've been attempting to google this to see if I'm simply doing this wrong, but I really doubt that. I get to teach my kids science while laughing together. My 4yo is grasping the concepts rather well and my 1yo is starting to learn patience while they take turns pouring water. Hats off to stem jr wonderlab developers of this little lab.
