A dying woman has had her last wish fulfilled after her hometown diner miraculously shipped a milkshake 600km to her bedside.
Emily Pomeranz, originally from Ohio, was touched when a shake from Tommy's Restaurant in Cleveland Heights made its way to her in Virginia.
The simple, yet remarkable gesture was orchestrated by her old friend Sam Klein, who asked Pomeranz if there was anything she'd love to eat during her final days.
"I wish I could have one more Tommy’s mocha milkshake," she responded.

Knowing that she couldn’t travel to Cleveland, he emailed the general information email address on the restaurant's website, asking if there was a way to get a milkshake to Arlington, Virginia where she was in hospice.
"A few days later I got a call from Tommy Fello, the owner of Tommy's. 'Yes. We will figure out a way to do this,' is what he said," Klein said in a Facebook post.
"I wasn't even sure if we'd be able to do it," Fello told Fox News of the epic "milkshake mission," which he said was the most extreme order the restaurant had gotten in its 47-year history.
Where there's a will, there's a way and with a bit of research, Fello figured out how to package and ship the milkshake to his hungry customer.
Using dry ice to preserve it, the kind restauranteur then paid $155 for overnight shipping 600km across the country.
Upon its arrival, Klein reported that the was "thrilled" and shared the beloved drink with her family.
"This was a huge surprise… She talked about it for days and days…It was something that made everyone smile," the friend recounted.
"A woman’s request for one last milkshake from her favourite restaurant. Wish granted!"
Aged 50, the two-time cancer survivor lost the third round, and passed away with family and friends by her side last Friday.
Praising the "caring and good heartedness of Tommy at Tommy’s" Klein urged his friends to "please stop in, order one of those incredible milkshakes and ask for Tommy (he is the one cooking in the middle of the restaurant) and say, 'This one is for Emily. Thank you for sending one to her.'"
