The mystery of why an ancient Egyptian relic in Manchester Museum appeared
to spin around by itself has been solved by new ITV programme Mystery Map
The mystery of a 4,000-year-old Egyptian statuette that baffled experts when
it spookily began rotating at a museum has been solved.
The 10-inch tall relic, named Neb-Senu, made headlines around the world when
footage emerged of it spinning in a display case at the Manchester Museum.
Explanations for its movement ranged from mystical and magical ancient myths,
curses and spirits to the object being possessed.
Museum chiefs claimed the statue, which was found in a mummy's tomb, may have
carried the "spirit" of someone who died thousands of years ago.
ITV's Mystery Map, which investigates myths and mysterious stories, set out to
discover the truth and enlisted investigators, who placed sensors in the display cabinet.
