"Published" Craigslist ads not showing up on main listing...
When I posted my ad on Craiglist, I followed the instructions and it says that it's "published," yet when I vist the main listing where I posted it in, it's not there. I waited, and still nothing. Does anyone know why?
Why are they saying it's published if it is not?

LOL! Sorry but I see this all the time... I use Craigslist myself and it is very easy to get your ad to show up.
Here are something you need to think about:
1. Cookie
2. IP address
3. Posting in wrong Category
4. Posting Frequency
5. Title

THere is a 5 minute delay.
Sometimes more than that, i do not see my ads listed myself, but hits become to pour in most of the time. So i stopped to look for my ads and try to understand if its published from the referrers
I have seen delays of longer than five minutes. Also, if you wait too long to look and have spammed CL, you may find that your ad was published and then quickly flagged and taken down...
Thanks. Do the postings have to come from a US IP address?
If you want to post ad in US site, of course, You need to use US IP address.
Craigslist is very strict on this.
Hi - I have researched this topic exhaustively and found that many of the software "solutions" being sold are nothing but pirated copies or unauthorized resales and will not run properly due to software that detects the unauthorized copy and subtly leaves out some important feature - nearly undetectable to the user - you need to get your ads past CL filters.
Detection requires breaking into the actual code to look for certain things. If you would like me to examine the CL software you are using, send me the installation files. I will let you know what I find and in many cases can remove this trap for you.
Why am I doing this? Simple. I am working on and about to release a "network" CL poster that can increase your CL posting efficiency tenfold or more, but is only open to SUCCESSFUL CL posters. Your success will ensure my success with this new product. (There's the catch - for having me look at your software, you are agreeing to receive an email form me in the next few months announcing this new product. You may receive up to 3 emails about this, but NO MORE - I promise. And I will not sell your address to anyone!)
Send your CL posting software to 999gobblegobble@gmail.com for the free analysis.
Or if you are not having any difficulty with your CL posting software and would just like to be notified when this new product becomes available, email me and I will put you on the notification list. In your email, tell me the name and version number of the CL posting software you are using.

This is a well-known problem with CraigsList. Some people suggested posting after log in helps. I doubt that. They have so many automatic spam protection filters; sometimes legit posts get lost, never seen on site.
I will say try posting as logged in. If that doesn't help use a different email address.
if you cant get it done yourself, then pay a professional to post the ads for you!
BTW I think the typical delay is up to 15 minutes. The system updates every 15 minutes so it could be as little as 1 minute or as many as 14 or 15.
if after 15 minutes you do not see your ad in the category listing, it is safe to say that your ad is ghosted. if your ad is removed due to being flagged you will know.
so if the ad is ghosted, there are many factors why. If you want, you can PM with your ad and I will give it a quick scan to see if i catch anyone too obvious.
Some factors that will get you ghosted.
1. Using an IP from outside the US
2. Duplicate Postings
3. Blocked Domains
4. Blocked IP's
5. Blocked Images
6. Filtered Ad Copy
7. Filtered Text .com .net etc
8. Filtered Keywords
9. Image only ads
Those are the most common. Best of luck, if you need a professional please feel free to contact me. I have specials and very reasonable rates, full reports and no setup fees

you said it was free......
doesn't look free to me
it is very easy to get your ad to show up. but some people do not want to spend the time troubleshooting. once you realize why the ad is not showing up, make the changes and you will never have the problem again

Ok, smart guy....
How am I supposed to know why it did not show up? Obviously, if I knew the answer to this...I would do what you said. But the general craigslist user will not know how to determine why the ad did not get posted.
copy and paste from above post:

again.....how would I know this stuff? I'm sure Craigslist does not send you an email saying....sorry, you are now blocked.
I guess I'll just have to keep trying.
Can you please describe what these are from your list:
3. Blocked Domains
4. Blocked IP's
5. Blocked Images
6. Filtered Ad Copy
7. Filtered Text .com .net etc
8. Filtered Keywords
I know what they are but what do you mean when you say blocked and filtered? Thanks Just a Simple User
You tried posting too many ads from the same IP/e-mail etc.
Do the following:
1. Create your ad on another web-site. You can use carsadmaster.com or freecraigslistads.com. When you're done you get the code to use on craigslist.
2. download an autoposter, best is admaster. Make sure you use a good proxi and an e-mail address for each post. each post should have a different title using tokens, admaster does it already.
Hey man, I've just scrolled to the bottom coz I'm pushed for time! So other people may have mentioned this.
The most important thing with craigslist/gumtree (for the UK) and gmail accounts is resetting your IP. I'm not a pro, but it can be done! I have done the one on my computer but have no idea how to do my friend's. However, he did find a way after like a day or so, which is worth it. Think of the long term over short term.
I would use a different email everytime personally, but I have heard you can get away with 5 posts a day from the same address and IP.
Also, make an image in html of your text for your ad. Craigslist read html script when banning ads... this is an html image - so they cannot see what they say, so no bans and ads will stick.
But, the easiest thing is resetting your ip man.
