  36. How cheap? How reliable? How fast? These things are all measurable and they all have a value, but without more information from you it's impossible to prioritise them.

In particular, reliability requires a lot of effort so if you want it to be cheap as well you'll have to find a third world country where labour is cheap (and they often don't have reliable power). If you have good backups though you can easily move to a new host if the first one fails, which means you might be able to relax the reliability requirement a bit, if you can tolerate a few hours of downtime during the switch.
  40. For "fast" you just need to buy a VPS with enough CPU, memory and bandwidth for your requirements (and no more, because that's expensive). That's hard to predict so you'll have to measure it or find it by trial and error (using cloud hosting). After that, the main thing that slows down a site is the internal software (e.g. too many WordPress plugins) which is your responsibility, not the host's. Look for SSD storage though.

  52. Looks like. Smartphone should be Apple and it costs over 1000 usd. Hosting or VPS, which generates income to buy that Iphone should be $2/month.

  56. I have VPS for my personal project and I pay about 18 euro/month for unmanaged 1core VPS with DirectAdmin and I do not think that I overpay.

  61. Your budget is very low and generally if you're launching some sort of online store it's probably for a business and one would also assume that business would be expected to turn a profit.
  63. Your budget of $2 per month is very cheap and you won't get much for that price, if you do then you shouldn't expect much in the way of quality or support.
  65. Ultimately, you need to be willing to invest in your business and as such I'd recommend increasing your budget to allow for a better solution. If you're not willing to spend money on your business then why would you customers?

  69. Well in my opinion you will have a hard time to find a fast and reliable hosting provider within the budget you mentioned but you can get a decent vps if you think about increasing your budget 3 times.

Considering we are talking woocommerce and wordpress, a $2 VPS will likely get overloaded by a few visitors at a time considering you're probably looking at 256 MB to start and you will likely be in swap (emergency RAM) causing IO quite often . You will need to run a well optimized Wordpress install with disk caching (not memcached) as well as an optimized LNMP stack to pull the cached files directly.
  73. If the above is fine, then check the offers forum as I am sure there is a few offers at that price point using openvz or other container based VPS. Just do research before committing and do not do more than a month in billing cycle.
  75. Personally, I think you should look at shared hosting from a good provider as you will get better service than a cheap VPS.

  91. Forget running into swap issues. I don't see how it's even possible to install WordPress on 256mb, and then add WooCommerce to the installation, especially since the WC plugin alone needs 512mb.
