Euroclear has launched a new asset class, Origami bonds, local Japanese bonds issued by domestic market participants, denominated in foreign currency, and distributed and settled in real time multi-currency DVP within Euroclear Bank. The Japanese cities Kobe and Yokohama as well as Shizuoka Prefecture were the first three issuers to utilise the Origami bond structure.
