  3. The Gouina Falls of Mali are also called the Chutes de Gouina – it is one of the places to visit in Mali. The main flow of the falls is the Senegal River by Bafoulabe and Diamou, towns in Mali that belong in the Kayes Region. The one thing that tourists refer Gouina Falls as is that the chutes are scenic. It is even nicknamed “Niagara Falls of Mali”. The falls is not that steep and only has a drop of 16 meters. The river though is 500 meters wide and a hydroelectric plant is being built to use the energy of the river.
