  2. How To Get Free Traffic
  3. Because we were losing money on the campaign, I decided to
  4. scratch the Facebook advertising idea and refocus on other traffic
  5. strategies.
  6. There’s SEO… content marketing… solo ads…
  7. … and my favorite, leveraging other affiliates to promote for me.
  8. Now before you start grumbling about affiliates as a traffic strategy…
  9. (like I normally do) keep reading because it gets good.
  10. The Power of An Affiliate Army
  11. Setting up an affiliate program for your product is one of the best
  12. ways to attract more customers.
  13. Why? Because you have other people doing the work for you!
  14. The real money in the digital marketing business is made in finding
  15. what are called affiliates. These are other people who sell your stuff
  16. for you for a commission of the sale they generate.
  17. Affiliates are your straight commission sales reps on the internet. The
  18. more affiliates you can attract, the better.
  19. I’ve spent a majority of my career being a super-affiliate. Meaning –
  20. I’ve made a lot of money online selling other peoples’ products for a
  21. commission. Because in the beginning, I was too scared to create my
  22. own products.
  23. But here’s what I learned: traffic is the hardest part of internet
  24. marketing! So… Why put in all the effort and send traffic to somebody
  25. else’s business, when you can have thousands of affiliates doing the
  26. hard work sending YOU the traffic instead?
  27. When this lightbulb went off in my head, it really changed the game
  28. for me.
  29. Having your own affiliates promoting your product for you is the
  30. quickest and most effective way to drive traffic, make a lot of sales,
  31. and bring in a ton of targeted leads.
  32. The reason this is the case is fairly obvious. You get either get:
  33. 1. Someone who already has access to and a relationship with
  34. a large audience, who then recommends your product or
  35. 2. Someone who is a master at driving traffic with paid traffic
  36. or free traffic (but they’re too lazy to create their own
  37. products)
  38. Having other internet marketers drive the traffic for you makes any
  39. other traffic method easy to beat.
  40. Tapping into someone else’s traffic through a joint venture or having
  41. an army of your own affiliates is the quickest & easiest way to get
  42. qualified buyers.
  43. I’ve personally done this a number of times and it has almost always
  44. drastically increased the traffic flowing to one of my offers.
  45. What’s The Incentive?
  46. There are two reasons why someone would want to promote your
  47. product:
  48. 1. Because they don’t have to create a product of their own,
  49. since yours is already finished; and
  50. 2. Because you pay them a commission every time they make
  51. a sale for you.
  52. This is better than simply advertising on other websites because as
  53. an affiliate, these people have a reason to help you sell your product
  54. – the more they promote, the more money both of you make.
  55. How Does It Work?
  56. In this case study, I used EasyDigitalDownloads.com to sell my
  57. product. So, I used AffiliateWP.com to integrate an affiliate program.
  58. If you’re using another shopping cart, you’ll have to do some further
  59. research into the particular service you’re using, or signup for a thirdparty
  60. affiliate program.
  61. Most affiliate programs that you use will provide you with a link that
  62. you can send out to anyone and everyone you want to help you
  63. promote your product.
  64. When people click on this link, they setup an account and are given
  65. special links that are unique to their accounts, which point back to
  66. your website.
  67. The affiliate program keeps track of those special links and knows
  68. exactly when anyone who purchased your product came from one of
  69. your affiliates.
  70. It doesn’t matter if someone sells anything or not because you only
  71. pay them when they do.
  72. However, here’s the thing…
  73. The Pain of Recruiting Affiliates
  74. Now here’s why most internet marketers avoid utilizing affiliate
  75. traffic…
  76. 1. Unfortunately building your own affiliate army is a giant pain
  77. in the butt.
  78. 2. Most marketers don’t want to create their own products or
  79. services.
  80. This is why a majority of internet marketers ignore recruiting affiliates.
  81. Hell! It’s the exact reason why I put it off for so long!
  82. But don’t worry because I have the solution for both roadblocks.
  83. Recruiting influential joint venture partners to promote your products
  84. is a daunting task - especially if you’re brand new to the niche with no
  85. existing connections, relationships, and influence.
  86. Depending on what niche you’re in… Most influencers are
  87. bombarded with emails and joint venture requests.
  88. So it takes time to nurture a relationship with the bigger players who
  89. can drive thousands of visitors to your website overnight.
  90. You can definitely hustle you way to building partnerships, but if
  91. you’re anything like me… you don’t like to “bother” people and
  92. perhaps you’re even a little bit shy.
  93. A New Twist To Getting Traffic
  94. Now here’s where it pays to have a business partner that’s much
  95. smarter than you…
  96. Instead of going through the long process of building relationships
  97. and reaching out to potential affiliate partners…
  98. Tina suggested that we try using Facebook ads again, but this time…
  99. instead of targeting our customers… we would target affiliates who
  100. could potentially promote our product for us.
  101. Hmm… sounded great in theory, but would it work?
  102. So we created another Facebook ad and targeted people who were
  103. interested in “Clickbank” and other “weight-loss affiliate groups” on
  104. Facebook.
  105. This time, instead of directing clicks to our salespage, we were
  106. sending the traffic to our affiliate page where visitors could sign up to
  107. promote our product.
  108. When a ClickBank affiliate saw this ad while browsing Facebook, they
  109. would click on it and get directed to our “affiliate program” page
  110. instead of our sales page:

  112. Here they were invited to join our affiliate program to start promoting
  113. “Lose 10 Pounds in 10 Days” for 75% commission.
  114. Looking at the numbers:
  115. We let this new Facebook campaign run for a couple of days and
  116. these were the results we got:
  117. • $100 spent on Facebook Ads
  118. • 127 Clicks To Affiliate Page
  119. • 31 Affiliates Registered
  120. • 165 Sales
  121. • $2,030.55 Total Revenue
  122. Whoa! I had to rub my eyes and refresh the page a couple of times to
  123. make sure there wasn’t an error.
  124. I spent $100 essentially promoting the same offer, only this time it
  125. generated $2,030 in revenue and added 165 subscribers to my
  126. customers list!
  127. Now, THIS was getting interesting!
  128. All of this was done WITHOUT having to contact or even TALK to any
  129. affiliates.
  130. Without even having to be in front of the computer! All on complete
  131. autopilot!
  132. We simply attracted affiliates to US rather than the other way around.
  133. The Big Break-Through
  134. Here’s what was happening.
  135. Previously when we were targeting our target audience with
  136. Facebook… with every new visitor, we had the opportunity to make
  137. either no sales or one sale.
  138. Here were the two ways things could play out:
  139. 1. If the visitor didn’t like what we had to offer, they left the
  140. page.
  141. 2. But if they did like what we had to offer, they made a
  142. purchase.
  143. On the other hand, when we targeted affiliates… with every new
  144. visitor, we had the opportunity to either make no sales or MANY
  145. sales.
  146. Here were the two options:
  147. 1. If the visiting affiliate didn’t like what we had to offer, they
  148. left the page.
  149. 2. But if they DID like what we had to offer, they promoted our
  150. product for us to many, many targeted customers for free!
  151. (All on autopilot without us having to do anything!)
  152. This is invaluable because it’s free viral traffic that you don’t have to
  153. generate yourself.
  154. By spending pennies on the click for a super-affiliate, you set yourself
  155. up for a future of THOUSANDS of FREE traffic coming to your site.
  156. Best of all, this traffic is already pre-vetted to convert as soon as they
  157. hit your offer.
  158. I honestly don’t know any better way to instantly send thousands of
  159. hungry pre-qualified buyers to your website overnight.
  160. There is no limit to the amount of visitors you can drive to your site
  161. using your affiliates.
  162. No More Painful Recruitment Process
  163. Most people understand the power of having their own affiliate
  164. army…
  165. However, the biggest pain is having to go out there and make affiliate
  166. relationships.
  167. Most internet marketers go about trying to get affiliates and joint
  168. venture partners the wrong way – by sending them an email asking
  169. them to promote their product.
  170. The likelihood of that succeeding is close to 0%.
  171. But now by using this method, you can easily build an affiliate army of
  172. your own by attracting them to your offer rather than you having to go
  173. and chase them down.

  192. create more traffic just by setting up additional Facebook campaigns.
