So I was stupid and bought a big bag of small kennel bedding, but I didn't recognize that red cedar was the main component. I remember reading that cedar was supposed to be unyielding in mushroom cultivation. I believe I remember reading it could just as effectively be replaced with broken glass or pebbles. Well I let it be, I mean I used plenty of spawn to just throw it away. So here it is today
It seems to be colonizing extremely well. I should note that I added 1 cup of coffee and 1 Tbs of gypsum to the soak. So Yay for red cedar?
