Two nights ago on Jeopordy!, sometimes referred to as “America’s favorite game show”. Not all readers may know about Jeopardy, or remember Jeopardy’s surge in popularity via Ken Jennings; however, suffice to say that Jeopardy’s questions, categories, and answers are an erudite snapshot of American cultural and academic knowledge and happenings.
The category that the question appeared under was “Words Recently Added To The Oxford Dictionary.” Well, since “Selfies” aren’t yet a digital currency the answer is obviously: “What Is Bitcoin.”
Now that Bitcoin has been mentioned in The Simpsons, and now Jeopardy as well, it is getting harder and harder for even the laziest couch potato to ignore the coming revolution that Bitcoin brings.
Meh, whom am i kidding? It seems the only people that have noticed Bitcoin’s mentions in mainstream media are Bitcoiners themselves. By the time that the average Joe formulates the cohesive thought: “What Is Bitcoin?”, nobody will bat an eyelash at Bitcoin being mentioned, or even used, in mainstream media not just in America but around the world.
