  2. A Ku Klux Klan leader said he was “glad” a woman was killed while protesting a racist rally in Charlottesville, Va., according to a report Tuesday.
  3. Justin Moore, the “grand dragon” of the North Carolina-based Loyal White Knights of Ku Klux Klan, made the remark in a voicemail left for a reporter at WBTV in Charlotte, NC, the station said.
  4. “I’m sorta glad that them people got hit, and I’m glad that girl died,” Moore said.
  5. “To me, they were a bunch of communists out there protesting against somebody’s freedom of speech, so it doesn’t bother me that they got hurt at all.”

  8. Moore also predicted that “we’re going to see more stuff like this happening at white-nationalist events.”
  9. Members of the Loyal White Knights took part in Saturday’s “Unite the Right” protest in Charlottesville against plans to remove a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee from a downtown park, the station said.
  10. City resident Heather Heyer, 32, was killed and 19 others were injured when a car rammed into a crowd of counter-protesters.
  11. Nazi fanatic James Alex Fields Jr., 20, was arrested a short time later and charged with second-degree murder and related crimes.
  12. He had been photographed hours earlier, holding a shield and wearing clothing associated with the fascist Vanguard America group, which later said he was not a member.
