  1. IN CASE OF MINOR CUTS:
  2. Wash your hands with soap or an antibacterial cleanser to prevent infection.
  3. Then wash the wound thoroughly with mild soap and water.
  4. Use direct pressure to stop the bleeding.
  5. Apply an antibacterial ointment and a clean bandage that does not stick to the wound.
  6. IN CASE OF MINOR PUNCTURES:
  7. Wash your hands with soap or an antibacterial cleanser to prevent infection.
  8. Rinse the puncture site for at least 5 minutes under running water and then wash with soap.
  9. Look for objects inside the wound (but don't poke around). If you find any, do not remove them. Go to the emergency room or urgent care center.
  10. If you cannot see anything inside the wound, but a fragment of the object that caused it is missing, seek medical attention as well.
