Speedworks Motorsport's Tom Ingram is confident he has the pace to win tomorrow's opening British Touring Car Championship race despite missing out on pole position by just 0.001s at Silverstone.
Ingram came agonisingly close to denying Eurotech Racing's Jack Goff a second pole of the season but the Toyota Avensis driver came up just 0.001s short following an historic qualifying session.
"Yeah fairly close!" Ingram told Crash.net. "There was probably millimetres in it, rather than foot. I’m very happy to be lining up on the sharp end of the grid. We know we’ve got a very strong car around here.
"We had a podium and a win here last year so we know we’ve got the pace to do some good stuff. We know we can have a good solid race."
