The sadness engulfs me
It twists, contorts, and distorts me
for months now I've remained
in this place of untold horrors, depression, and pain
It's not so bad they say, at least they feed you
Yes, sloppy crap resembling dog food
it's not so bad they claim, at least they clothe you
Yes, in an over-sized orange jump suit
it's not so bad they state, you've a bed to sleep in
you mean a metal plank with a wool blanket and a torn dirty sheet
and they deign to state, it won't kill you
but you'll wish for death and it will change you
re-arrange you, inflict and sicken, leave you stricken
and wicked, the chains are permanent
etched in your mind, you'll always be doing time
