"GOLDEN MOMENT OF INSPIRATION"
Today, more than any time in history, worry is taking the central stage. I suppose we should just take a few moment to worry about worrying.
1. Let us begin by taking a positive position.
Worry should be a major cause of concerns to us. Harold Stephens mentioned that,
"There's a great difference between worry and concern. A worried person sees a problem, and the concerned person solves the problem."
2. We all have a fair share of blessings and troubles. We expand, in our lives, that portion we choose to dwell upon; blessings or troubles.
We are blessed to the degree that we think about our blessings, and cursed to the degree that we dwell on our troubles. No devil is to blame.
3 Worry is so costly that even the richest man in the world cannot afford it. William Jordan listed that,
"It impairs the appetite, spoils digestion, disturbs sleep, irritates disposition, weakens mind, warps character, saps bodily strength, and stimulates diseases."
Worry kills in more ways, and faster, than worms.
4. How do we cure worry. The classical approach begins with a proper diagnosis.
If you are not feeling good, then you are worrying. Pretty simple, isn't it?
5. The cure is to find a way to feel good. If there is a problem, we find solutions. If we cannot solve the problem at this time, we let go, and let God.
6. A better solution is to write a list of our blessings; a long list of what we are grateful about. When we count our blessings, we kill worry. If we feel grateful, we feel good.
Zachary Fisher asserted that,
"Gratitude is riches. Complaining, worrying, is poverty. Instead of complaining about what is wrong, be grateful about what is right."
7. Everyone, you and I, should have a "gratitude register" that contains a list of two hundred, or so items, of what we thank God for. As we go over the list, on a daily basis, we add fresh blessings. We literally add fresh life into our years.
8. Nothing can take the place of the kind of joy we experience as we count our blessings.
Operating a gratitude register is the modern way, an effective strategy, to count our blessings; a practical method to feel good, prevent worry, starve worry and stay happy.
This is the bit I carry the capacity to send today.
