The teacher may have a study guide for the curriculum that may better help you. They may also offer suggestions on how to better assist your child. Remember that the teacher works with your child on an every day basis and will be able to tell you your child’s areas of opportunity. Keep in regular communication with the teacher via email, phone or visiting in person to see how your child is doing.
I will never forget a time in my life, not too long ago that I found myself working 12 a day. At that point I was so focused on paying the bills that I was not paying attention to the projects that was given to my child. He would go to school empty handed while the other kids showed off what they had accomplished with their parents. He brought it to my attention and that was the end of that. Now I firmly believe in staying in communication with the teachers. From experience it truly changes the moral of the child.
