Jose Mourinho is set to allow Luke Shaw leave Manchester United on loan, after it emerged the left back was looking at returning to former club Southampton in January.
The 22-year old has struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford following his move in 2014, and although there have been flashed of brilliance, he has consistently suffered from injuries and poor fitness levels.
And latest reports have now suggested the Manchester United manager is to be open to a January loan move for the youngster.
Shaw is yet to feature in a Premier League match this season and is unhappy with his situation at Old Trafford.
According to the Sun, an Old Trafford source said: “It looks like Luke will be allowed to leave in January on loan if the right offer comes in.
“He has been on the bench a few times recently but his injury problems are a concern. Marcos Rojo is back soon and Jose is considering his options.
"A couple of Premier League clubs asked about him in the summer, but he was still injured. He has been working hard in training.
"It has been difficult for him as he is trying his hardest but has had no luck over the past couple of years, at all.”
According to the Sun, Mourinho is happy for Shaw to leave on a permanent deal in the summer and a loan move in January would act as a perfect shopping window for any suitors.
