  1. Bitcoin started the new year, surpassing all bonds, stocks, gold, and assets in terms of rising prices and profitability in 2017.
  2. According to StockTwits, S & P 500, Dow Jones, Nasdaq, Long 20+ Year Treasuries, Gold, Emerging Markets and Junk Bonds, recorded a year-on-year profit below the 35 percent mark despite strong US stock markets.
  3. On the contrary, as in 2015 and 2016, bitcoin has surpassed the growth rate of all traditional assets in the traditional financial industry. After the beginning of 2017 at a price of $ 900, the price of bitcoin closed the year at $ 13,500, recording an annual income of almost 1300%.
  4. However, in the global crypto-currency market, bitcoin was not the most profitable asset. Litecoin, IOTA, Ripple, Ethereum and some others outperform bitcoin, and Ripple shows a staggering 333-fold annual revenue.
  5. $ 1,000 invested in bitcoin in early January would earn $ 13,000 to investors, while $ 1,000 invested in Ripple over the same time period would earn $ 330,000.
  6. Regardless of its high performance, the bitcoin dominance index has significantly decreased - from 90 percent to 38.3 percent. The analyst explained such a sharp decrease in the dominion over the crypto-currency market by the high commission charge for bitcoin transactions, which in December increased to $ 20 for a medium-sized transaction.
  7. Nevertheless, compared to other assets and currencies in the financial sector and the global economy, bitcoin recorded the strongest return for investors.
