Basilica del Voto Nacional or the Basilica of the National Vow is a place of worship for Roman Catholics in Quito, Ecuador. Actually, the basilica is the biggest church in South America and it is a representation of how important Neo-Gothic in the Ecuadorian style of architecture is for the New World. For the Ecuadorian government, this basilica is considered a national monument and it was first opened for public use in 1892. Today, tourists are asked to extend a small fee as conservation means for the basilica.
