My Point of View depends on my location and focal point which is translated to my mental and psychological well being. Our intellectual variety would also make our point of view different from each other, but most times we agree to disagree.
Having said that, I would love to talk about an integral part of this lovely blog which is the Single and Mingle Post. It has been a lovely platform for people to connect, hook up and find love. I'll be focusing on the positive aspect of this awesome platform because I believe the Blogger meant it for good.
However, being a participant in the last two editions of Single and Mingle, I have noticed some things I feel we should consider, which are my opinions (My Point of View).
The social media has given us the platform to broaden our horizon, find love, interact and socialise with people from different backgrounds and spheres of life. And I commend this blog for creating a social platform that gives people the chance to socialise.
Participating in the Single and Mingle Post has given me the opportunity to meet some amazing people. My intent was to find love and I am still searching. But these are my observations....
1. ATTENTION: We all love the attention we get from people who want to get to know us and meet us, but most times we get carried away by the euphoria and lose the major reason why we gave out our phone numbers, BBM Pins or Email addresses. We forget that this euphoric experience would only last a couple of days and we get tired of the whole thing. We can concentrate on accepting a maximum of 10 (a suggestion) invites or the number of people we meet so has to give us the opportunity to get to know them better without getting lost in multiple conversations with loads of people thereby losing the essence of the post.
2. TIMING: Stella's timing for the post is always right because she picks the weekends or long holidays which would give people ample time to reply messages and meet people. But our timing is usually wrong. Most people participate when they are not psychologically, emotionally, financially and physically ready to meet people and find that love they so desire.
3. OBJECTIVES/GOALS: The comment section for the post is usually flooded with people who do not know what they want. Being specific will filter your search for the man or woman who you want to meet. What are your relationship goals.
4. DISTANCE: We say distance is not a barrier but we all know it is. And even though long distance relationship work for some, the percentage is quite minimal. With time people who lack patience tend to lose interest.
5. ATTITUDE: Our attitude towards people who took out time to get in touch and stay in touch with us is usually not welcoming. Being polite and friendly would send a positive signal.
6. CHOICE: We have the power to choose who we eventually end up with. We also have the power to discern and be wise when we observe red flags flying everywhere. No one is perfect, so when he portrays a perfect gentleman all the time, be careful.
6. LOVE: We shouldn't be blinded by our desire to find love, because it's usually fragile especially when we meet people online. Love is hard work, communication and commitment.
Stelz......... You are doing a great job and the lives of the people you touch will ever be grateful to you.
These are my observations and they are my point of view
