Kabbalah teaches that holidays are not about dwelling on the past, but about taking the energy of today and what the day provides. We all know what happened originally to provide this holiday, Thanksgiving.. but today we can take that energy and turn it into a positive by having gratitude and being thankful. There aren't any holidays that are built on actual righteous acts... we are dealing with Mankind and out of control egos. So let's just be thankful. I'm thankful for you. I'm thankful for my Family. I'm thankful for my life. I'm thankful for a fresh start. And last but not least, I am thankful for the Most High who is the Source of all things. Good, bad or indifferent. It ALL comes from One Source.
