  1. o the place I am living now (just renting) has a little stretch of soil that used to be some sort of garden/flower bed many years back. I spent about 4 hours out there today cleaning it up a bit and turning up all the dirt. I love doing physical labor like this when I can really see a difference after all the work I put in, makes me excited to see what else I can do and what I can get from it.
  2. All of the cinder blocks and other blocks were buried by at least a few inches of dirt. I dug all of them up, about 8 cinder blocks total and ~14 feet of these cool 'fancy brick garden liners' and then cleaned all the dirt off of everything. I had some left over spray paint from haloween that I decided to use on these to spice things up. I will take pictures of the final project tomorrow, but this is just some of the work I did today.
  3. Now last fall I took some spent substrate and added it in there will a bag of cow manure and got a decent amount of mushies to come up. I plan on doing the same type of thing but with legit horse manure.
  4. I would like some ideas of what I could add plant/flower wise with all the horse manure and such to make it look nice/hide the mushies that will grow. This area will not get a lot of sun light during the day as there is a large oak tree above it and after about 3 pm the sun will be blocked by the house. Would vegetables be a option in this situation? I am just looking to have some fun with this since it is my first time ever growing anything, not trying to produce enough food to feed a family or anything. I am open to any recommendations or opinions.
