Lake Turkana is located at the center of a volcanic region – the Central Island. People used to call the lake, Lake Rudolph. It has a national park too which has been regarded as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is because Lake Turkana is a desert lake and it is the largest in the world which makes it one of the places to visit in Ethiopia. Also, some millennia old fossils were discovered here. It has a marine wildlife, as well despite its being a desert lake. Nile crocodiles also come around at certain times. Moreover, the great winds here give 310 megawatts of power to Kenya.
