We get up every morning because we believe in healthy, regional, and seasonal products.
Our food is, above all, for you. Trust, responsibility, community, an eye for the
future, inventiveness, and, above all, love for the product—we believe that all of
these belong together in order to be able to provide people with better care and be
in harmony with the environment. We are therefore guided by clear values and have
been doing well for years.
We've been doing what we're doing for a while. Our farm in Holtensen has been in our
family for five generations. Cornelia, Christoph, Ruben, and Johannes are currently
looking after the business. Growing up among strawberries and beets, we feel firmly
rooted in the land and its people. Our agriculture is therefore more than field work.
For us, it means that we pass on valuable things to others.
Valuable – that can be an excellent product or a nice experience, but it also means
offering good and fairly paid work to over 250 seasonal helpers: from permanent
agricultural staff to office staff to management. We are grateful for the collaboration
with all of these people because they make us what we are—a real family business.
For us, culture never means "mono.”. Quite the opposite - we are committed to a
healthy mix: In addition to strawberries , potatoes, and our vegetables, we also grow
wheat, corn, and sugar beets. And, of course, alternately.
With our crop rotation, we reduce pest infestations and preserve the nutrients in the
soil. It also preserves biodiversity. For us, this is a contribution that we want to
make—for generations of today, tomorrow, and the day after.
The grain harvest begins in mid-July. When the dew on the grain has dried during the day,
it is time to harvest. The ears of grain are systematically mown, threshed, and checked
for quality until late at night. The grains are transported in a trailer by tractor to the
farm, where they are stored for some time. When the harvest season ends in late August,
the storage facilities are well filled again.
A healthy crop rotation not only preserves the land,. As farmers, it is important for us
to be prepared for unforeseeable events, such as losses in crops and varieties. In addition
to the other products, sugar beet in particular is part of our “third pillar.”. We sell
the sweet beet to the local sugar factory and thus also provide for the future.
