Just aquired a beautiful Farlows of London 8. Everything is sound, screw ferruls, teeny locating guides inside the ferruls, spare tip, the extra length below the reel suggests it is of an interesting age. Problem is, I can't find a Farlows dating system to check it's age through the serial no. Hardy do a detailed system, the only site I can find for Farlows mainly deals with Tweedy stuff which our broonies would laugh at. I was wondering if any of you guys could give me some steerage on a Farlows dating system. This old boy is so beautiful, it puts out so much karma, it would be plain uncivil to fish it and not know whence it came. I realise this is a long shot, but if you guys can't help, nobody can. However, I'll keep trying, I suppose all that's needed is the detective work that we've all struggled through to date our treasures. But, I will find out more, keep you posted on my findings. Slainte Mhath CC, if you tell me exactly how the rod is marked I believe I can give you a date or date range for the rod. The screwlock ferrules where patented by Farlows in the 1920's Jeff I am betting it is marked with one of the following C. LTD 10 Charles Street or C.
