  1. Cesc Fabregas is hopeful of agreeing a new contract with Chelsea amid reports he is being targeted by Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
  2. The Spain international has played an instrumental role in two Premier League winning sides since his move to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona in the summer of 2014.
  3. Former Arsenal captain Fabregas, who nearly moved to Old Trafford when David Moyes was in charge, is currently contracted until 2018 but claims his priority is to extend his stay in west London.
  4. ‘Would I like to renew? Yes, because it is a club that has always treated me well,’ he told the Evening Standard.
  5. ‘I believe the fans have a lot of respect for me and I have a lot of respect for them. I have given my all for the club for the last three-and-a-half years. ‘This is a fantastic club for me and I have had a fantastic time here.
  6. Hopefully another contract will happen. Time will tell.’ Fabregas, who made his Premier League debut aged 17, turned 30 earlier this year but insists he still has plenty to offer wherever he will be playing his football next season.
  7. ‘I know that people panic after players reach 30 and stuff like that, but I don’t believe in this,’ he added. ‘I feel well, I feel young in my mind. I train every day as hard as possible.
  8. ‘I think in the last 48 games I have played in 47, and I only missed one because I was suspended against Tottenham in August. ‘I always try to give my best. I will play at any moment, even when I’m sick or not 100 per cent.’
