The German economy grew 1.8% in the third quarter, which is disappointing, compared to the previous quarter revised upwards (1.9%), in a context of reactivation affected by the shortage of components for the industry, according to data provisional published this Friday by the Destatis Institute.
"The reactivation of the German economy continued during the summer," says Destatis, mainly thanks to the increase in domestic consumption. The German government recently revised down its growth estimates for 2021.
In one year, growth was 2.5% in the third quarter, according to data corrected for seasonal effects.
The GDP of the largest economy in the euro area between July and September remained 1.1% below the level of the last quarter of 2019, which preceded the collapse caused by the spread of the epidemic.
