Simon Cowell got more than he bargained for after making a cheeky quip about Mel B’s marriage on America’s Got Talent – which saw her storm off stage.
The moment occurred as the quarter-final aired in the US on Tuesday night – with the judges being a tad underwhelmed by one act, escape artist Demien Aditya, after his purportedly ‘dangerous’ stunt went wrong.
The act suffered a technical error as he failed to escape from a wooden box which had been nailed shut and suspended in mid-air – leading both Simon and Mel to press their red buzzers.
But Simon took things to another level as he told Demien: ‘I feel like this would be a lot like Mel’s wedding night, a lot of anticipation…not much promise or delivery.’
