Along the road of making it happen, a few mistakes may occur—and they can be avoided.
A good number of the growing population of people rock a side business while keeping the safety of their nine-to-five job.
But while starting a side hustle could be an exciting prospect in terms of earning extra cash, taking the concept and seeing it through to creation could be quite challenging.
Here are some of the mistakes people make when starting a side hustle:
1. They seek approval from others.
Do not go about seeking approval or feedback from others so as to validate your plan. The only person you need on your side in your venture is you!
2. They choose a business idea they’re not in love with.
You have to love what you do. Do not choose something just because it will bring you money. Your passion will see you through the hard times and setbacks, so choose to create a product or service you’re crazy about
3. They’re discouraged by competition.
In the early stages of a hustle, you want to make sure you’ll have buyers ready and that you won’t have to educate a market with a totally fresh offering.
Research and learn from people doing businesses similar to yours. Be inspired (and not intimidated) by what they do.
4. They don’t network.
Networking is an essential part of building wealth. Having connections, hustle buddies, or a tribe will keep you going. Team up with other hustlers and entrepreneurs at every opportunity. The bigger your networking circle is, the more “luck” you will have.
