Pete Evans is also a dangerous person who promotes harmful ideas about medicine and health. And he shares neo-Nazi cartoons and promotes QAnnon conspiracy theories involving imaginary cabals of evil Jews.
Some people do not agree with Pete Evan's anti-Semitic and anti-science ideas but feel so strongly about medical cannabis they are prepared to ignore the bad stuff so long as their cause is being furthered.
I care deeply about medical cannabis. I am also Jewish. And as a Jew, I am compelled to call out racists, bigots and people who promote the kinds of ideas that contribute to hate crimes.
Pete Evans is not only bad for medical cannabis because he tarnishes it with his reputation for lies and false medical claims. He is also dangerous to society because he knowingly promotes white supremacy and anti-Semitism.
So please, don’t invite him to speak at your conferences, don’t give him awards, and don’t promote his ‘journalism’.
I'm not saying everyone who supports Pete Evans share all of his hateful and stupid beliefs.
But if you disagree with him about vaccinations, Jews, and the New World Order, and support him regardless, that is telling.
Ignorance is no longer a defence.
