  1. More than 1,000 flights were canceled at the busiest airport in the world in Atlanta, due to an 11-hour power outage.
  2. The power failure at about 13h on December 17 paralysis operation at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport before the power was restored at 23h45. Passengers are stuck in darkened stations or in airplanes lying on the runway, according to Reuters.
  3. Delta Air Lines canceled about 300 flights on Dec. 18, after 900 flights canceled on Dec. 17 due to power outages. United Airlines also warns on the social network that travel on December 18 may be affected.
  4. The case prompted the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to suspend flights to Atlanta, Georgia. American Airlines and Southwest Airlines are major airlines that have suspended operation at the airport.
  5. Georgia Power, the airport's power supplier, said the fire related incident involved an underground facility, destroying the Hartsfield substation.
  6. Every day, the airport serves about 275,000 passengers and about 2,600 aircraft take off or land here.
