A profit is the positive gain from an investment or business operation after subtracting for all expenses. There is no profit at all in exchanging one's soul for all that the world can offer. The verse could thus be rephrased to read: "The gain a man makes from obtaining the whole world at the expense (or minus the cost) of his soul is negative (less than zero)."The price of a soul outweighs the price of the world
So what offer is good enough for man's soul? What price has God, the other bidder, who actually is the Creator of man, offered for a soul?
