  2. 26 million people in the United States have diabetes, and 79 million more are at risk for type 2 diabetes or are pre-diabetic. This disease is especially a problem for the poor, and millions of them are left without access to health care. So why are GOP governors turning down Obamacare's Medicaid expansion that could help them get health coverage?
  3. Uninsured diabetics are less likely to get the medical supplies and services they need, go to regular check-ups, or have a reliable source of care at all. They are also forced to pay way higher out of pocket, and sometimes this is impossible.
  4. Unfortunately, many of the GOP governors who wouldn't take the Medicaid expansion are in states with above average diabetes rates such as North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Also, all of these states have above average poverty rates as well.
  5. Please tell these GOP governors to expand Medicaid and make sure that poor diabetics have access to medical care!
