  7. Than the beat of wiper blades
  8. Which race in vain to clean the glass.
  10. It seems not to fall upon us
  11. But to wash against us
  12. As it blows across our path.
  13. And yet the day is bright -
  14. And the sky is all
  15. A perfect placid blue,
  17. Except for that single ragged cloud
  18. Running, dark and angry, toward the sun.
