  1. Food is very essential to our existence on Earth. However, we should make sure that the food we eat are not only nutritious but hygienically prepared. There are certain things that we do immediately after eating that can affect our health negatively and may not let our bodies absorb the nutrients it needs. Here are some of these things.
  2. 1) Eating fruits immediately after meals: This may seem like the perfect thing to do after a meal, however, eating fruits after a meal is not advisable as it can mix up with the food you have eaten and lead to digestive problems.
  3. 2) Sleeping immediately after a meal is also very wrong as it can cause the digestive juice in your stomach to move up your chest which will lead to heart burn. This causes the digestive process to get affected.
  4. 3) Having a shower: Taking a bath immediately after eating can cause blood to rush to the skin to regulate the body's temperature. This can cause digestive problems.
  5. 4) Exercising: This is a harmful habit after eating because it can disrupt the digestive process and lead to vomiting and stomach puffiness.
  6. 5) Drinking water: A lot of people drink water immediately after meals without knowing that it is harmful. This is because it can make the digestive process difficult as it reduces the secretion of digestive juice in the stomach. The best time to drink water is half an hour before a meal or an hour after a meal.
  7. 6) Smoking: Smoking is very harmful to the health. However, smoking after a meal is worse. This is because cigarettes contains carcinogens that can worsen irritable bowel syndrome.
