Enlarge Image Olivia was home with a huge smile, yes moving to a new city was really making her feel better. She had a good time with her new friend Serayah and the icing on the cake was little Melanie. She was adorable, but she radiated so much sadness, Olivia wondered what would put such a sad face on that angel and to think that the little girl had lost her mother. It was sad, just as sad as Olivia's condition, she was determined to make Melanie's sadness disappear, seeing and talking to Melanie had eased the burden in her, it was better than therapy. How she wished she could see her again this very instant, she made herself tea and crawled unto her bed and soon fell asleep.
The next morning she woke up feeling super excited to see Melanie, she made lunch for two as she noticed that Melanie had come with a McDonald pack, making lunch for a student had to be against the ethics of teaching but she didn't care, she got to school and headed to Serayah's class.
"You seem happy," Serayah said.
"Thank you, talk to you later girlfriend."
"Okay dear."
School started and it was more like fun than work to Olivia, there was something about kids that made her happy, she'ld love to have one for herself but that wouldn't happen any time soon at least not until maybe the next 10 years coming or probably when she gets over Aiden which might never happen so she might just be destined to die alone. It was recess already and little Melanie had into hands behind her "I brought something for you miss."
"What?"
"A rose."
"Thank you, where did you get it," Olivia asked.
"We've got a garden of flowers and fruit at home."
"Thank you Melanie, hmm the rose it smells just like someone I know!"
"Who??"
"You sweetheart," she said carrying her up. "Now run along dear, I'll be with you shortly."
"But I wanna play with you."
"I'll be back, look Penelope on the slide alone join her," she said kissing Mel's forehead.
Melanie ran towards her friends and blew Olivia a kiss. They had become inseparable in just two days.
Serayah and Olivia got talking.
"So do you plan on ever leaving this city," Serayah asked.
"I do not know Rayah, with everything I've been through, a huge part of me never wants to return there," Olivia said sadly.
"I understand it's so cruel of the police to abandon the case, it's unheard of ."
"I know right, but my late sister's fiancé is a detective and he's doing a secret investigation."
"That's good, I used to be a detective until I found out that most people do not think female detectives are just as capable as the male, we went to the same God damn school"
"There's never gonna be gender equality my friend," "recess is over already go get your kids." Serayah said.
"Your kids too."
They both laughed. Olivia got her students and took them to their class, she then resumed teaching them their... A, B, C's .The students repeated after every letter she said, she soon got into singing of rhymes, all the kids became fond of their new teacher, hours passed and every child had been taken home except for Melanie.
"Why isn't your driver here Mel," Olivia asked.
"It's Tuesday, its dad's turn to pick me up from school, he has forgotten me."
"Calm down my dear, I'm here," Olivia reassured her, "do you know daddy's number?" She asked again.
"No, he changes it frequently because strange women disturb him," Melanie said.
"Alright we just have to wait," Olivia said calmly.
"Arrrgh my tummy," Melanie said grabbing her stomach.
"What is it," a terrified Olivia asked.
"Haha... I fooled you, but I'm starving and my head hurts." Melanie said laughing
"You scared me to death little actress, okay follow me I'll take u home with me how about that?"
"Yes!!!"
Olivia held Melanie's hands and headed towards the school's gate, she gave the security man at the gate her telephone number and house address to give to Melanie's guardian when they arrive.
Andre was in his office with his friend Tyler and his girlfriend Adriana. The three got along well, Tyler and Andre had been friends for 10years now, he was also an employee in Andre's company, the two had an history with women but Tyler was better because he wasn't the one night stand kind of guy, he loved being in a relationship but soon gets tired of the girl after close to four months of being with her, Andre on the other hand had not had a girlfriend for close to six years. he only had a lover who gave birth to Melanie while he was with Melanie's mother for close to a year Tyler had been out of the country when he came back he met Andre with a baby. Tyler decided to go get pizza from across the office building for Adriana.
"Don't be long," Adriana said kissing him.
"I won't baby," Tyler replied and left the office.
Andre concentrated on the computer in front of him when Adriana shut the system off and leaned in a seductive manner.
"Adriana what do you want?" Andre asked.
"I'm back baby, for you and I won't leave this time."
"You must be sick in the head, you're with Tyler now!"
"He's the only one I could use to get you back, Andre I know you missed me, I'm here to bring you back to life," she said climbing on Andre and kissing him softly.
He was seduced, he wouldn't dare resist. Adriana was one of those ladies he couldn't have just once. He kissed her passionately pressing all of her against himself, his hands were everywhere.
"We'll be together forever."
Andre pushed her away as soon as he heard the word forever, how dare she say that after what she had done to him, Andre was a tough guy but once a while he gets real feelings and unfortunately Adriana had been one but she hurt him deep in fact she gave him his very first heartbreak he hated to admit it to anyone but deep down he knew she broke him a lot.
"Adri, we're over, stop seducing me. stay with Tyler he's a good guy."
Adriana smiled and went back to the couch in the office, some awkward minutes of silence passed and Tyler entered.
"Hey hmm Andre it's a few minutes to six and today is Tuesday aren't you the one who picks your daughter?" Tyler asked.
"OMG! My baby, she's never gonna forgive me this time I totally forgot, bye."
Andre put on his suit jacket and headed to the door with his car keys.
"Wait, Andre you have a daughter?" Adriana asked.
Andre walked closer to her.
"Yes, my daughter, Melanie or as her mother named her Andrea .Tyler don't mess up my office please it's not a hotel. use your office... bye guys."
He dashed out the door. How could he have forgotten his daughter in school again! When he got to Melanie's school, the security guards informed him that a teacher had taken his daughter home, he dragged the men by their shirts and clashed their heads against each other.
"How dare you fools let some stranger take my child, I swear I'm calling the police."
"No hold on sir, here's the lady's address and number."
He collected the note and tried the number but it wasn't going through, he panicked, his little girl has to be fine, he would die if he doesn't find her. He entered his car and drove to the address. Different thoughts ran through his mind, the place he was headed wasn't fit for his daughter, what if she had been kidnapped, oh no, not his queen, she's his life. He finally got to the address, he decided to take a gun with him in case it was some thugs house. He knocked softly so as to not frighten the thugs into not opening the door.
Olivia opened the door and knew immediately that it was Melanie's father.
"Daddy," Melanie smiled with a chocolate in her hand as she ran to hug her father.
"Honey are you okay? I'm so sorry I totally forgot," Olivia gave Andre a quick survey and she had to admit she was impressed, his eyes the way they were fixed on his daughter was intense, it was filled with care. Andre turned to Olivia.
"Who gave you the right to bring my daughter here, to this pig style."
Olivia was shocked, Andre wasn't who she thought he should be.
"I'm sorry, Melanie complained of a headache and it was getting late I couldn't leave her all alone," she stammered.
She knew Andre was right. Andre walked round the small apartment, his anger had reduced when he saw that it was the same lady he had lust over that brought his daughter home.
"I don't believe you," he said.
"Dad, miss Olivia took good care of me don't be mad at her. I'm fine," Melanie said.
