  11. I'm looking for a reliable UK based hosting company that can provide a VPS Hosting Service, Windows based with RDP local admin. access.
  13. I currently host 2 client sites on my shared hosting so i'd need a package to be able to suit.
  15. I'm new to VPS so ideally I'd like you to recommend some specs that would handle two word press sites with a plan to host up to 5 sites without performance issues.
  17. I currently pay ￡5 a month for a shared hosting plan, I'd ideally like to find something for a maximum of ￡35 - ￡45 a month. A good amount of storage would be good too.

  21. If you're looking to host WordPress sites, is there any specific reason you're not looking at Linux machines? You would save on the Windows licensing costs doing it that way.

  37. He probably is more comfortable managing a Windows OS. If that's not the case then yeah, it's definitely better to use a Linux based VPS. More hosting options also.

  65. I have experience in both Windows Server Hosting and Linux, I've been hosting since Windows Server 2000! I absolitely love Wordpress and I can confirm that Wordpress will work on both Windows Server and a Linux based server however I am confident that Wordpress will run better on a Linux server over a windows machine as PHP just functions quicker from my experience on Linux.
  67. I would suggest looking for a Cloud server/VPS that comes pre-tuned for good PHP performance to make your wordpress websites fast! I also recommend looking at some caching plugins and a CDN to help you even more.
  69. Why do you need a VPS at all?
  70. Decent shared hosting would meet your requirements just fine $5 is really not a lot of money, so the specs will be pretty low.
  71. You will be paying significantly more for a VPS as the control panels and OS licensing would cost more then $5 a month, you are looking at $50 just in licensing.
  72. I'd go with a decent Linux host for Wordpress as you will get far more resources and won't have the headaches of trying to make sure the server is running, or having to pay someone to do that.
  73. You really only need a VPS if you want control over the entire server without sharing with other customers.
