Nkhotakota Game Reserve is one of the national game reserves in the country. It is located at Nkhotakota and the IUCN or the International Union for Conservation of Nature designated it as a Category IV habitat and species management area. The exact date of the game reserve’s establishment was not mentioned but as of 2015, the NGP African Parks manages its daily affairs. Animals will be reintroduced in the game reserve sometime soon and it will start with 500 elephants from Liwonde National Park.
