When unveiled the 918 Spyder concept at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show we were all in amazement. Within that amazement was a sense of a sense of pessimism, as we were unsure exactly how this future successor to the would look and run in the real world. After more than three years, the 918 Spyder ended its testing phase and is ready for its world debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. porsche 918 prijs So, is the 918 Spyder everything it has been hyped up to be. The German automaker is laying down the gauntlet on the vehicle that ends up succeeding the 918 Spyder supercar. Ready or not, the hybrids are coming. In fact, the addition of electric assistance might actually increase the smile factor of the modern sports car. Despite rampant speculation and fear mongering over the Prius-ification of the performance segment, hybrid powertrains can add mph in addition to mpg. To prove as much, here are five of the best examples of exactly that. The 86th 24 Hours of Le Mans is on the horizon, and while race car drivers will be put to the ultimate test on the Circuit de la Sarthe, gamers will be participating in their own gasoline-fueled test of endurance in a 24-hour marathon of Forza 6. As you might have guessed by the official name, those who actually make it through qualifying and become finalists will get to race virtual versions of the 919 Hybrid. The only requirements are a working Xbox One and a copy of Forza Motorsport 6. Qualifying comes to an end on May 28th, so you still have some time. When the final race kicks off, it will be streamed via YouTube, Twitch, and Beam for the whole world to see. The Porsche 918 Spyder is a monumentally fast machine. The biggest giveaway is in the corners, where a four piece of uber-gummy Hoosier race slicks provide the traction. While everything is still in the speculative stage, it is interesting to hear Preuninger throw out the scenario given that the 918 Spyder relied on a hybrid powertrain to get to the power levels it needed to attain. But Preuninger stopped well short of confirming either a similar hybrid powertrain configuration or an all-out electric car for the talked-about successor. Since then, Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin have joined in on the fun with their own 1,000-horsepower machines. For now, Porsche appears to be content to sit on the sidelines and spectate on the next wave of hypercars that are scheduled to hit the market in the coming years. The barter system goes back about as far as conscious intelligence and has been the primary method of paying for services or obtaining products over a number of different eras all over the world. When you think about bartering, you probably think about people trying to trade things online or maybe that it will be a form of currency after the apocalypse. To put it simply, a Mr. Emilio Cirelli wants to trade his private island for a Porsche 918 Spyder. If it sounds familiar, the same individual posted an ad on Craigslist a few years back trying to trade off the island for a Ferarri Enzo. This time, the island is listed on Racing Junk along with the photo you see above. According to the post, it is a three-acre private island that is about 10 miles south of Daytona Beach. Teamspeed managed to do a short interview with Mr. Cirelli and found out a little more about it. And yet, the 918 Spyder has actually been recalled a handful of times already. Owners of the hypercar are encouraged to contact their respective Porsche dealers, wherever they may be in the world, to know more about the recall and how they can have their respective 918 Spyders inspected for the faulty screws. Do you remember porsche 918 prijs opening scene of the Gone in 60 Seconds remake. Eventually, he goes on to get into an illegal street race, leads police to porsche 918 prijs warehouse, and the whole plot of the movie unfolds from there. So why am I talking about an entertaining scene from a 16-year-old movie. Because someone from Salt Lake City, Utah decided he wanted to be just like Kip Raines. He did it at around 4:30 in the afternoon. Police caught up with him in that very car just six hours later, where he was arrested on charges of theft, burglary, and theft by receiving stolen property. But there are times when some of the best and finest exotics find the company of one another. A handful of Porsche 911s were also in attendance, as were a couple of Lamborghinis, Koenigseggs, and Mercedes-Benz models. In short, the supercar meet turned into the kind of gathering that we can only see in our dreams. But for those who actually own these cars, it was just another day of rubbing elbows with their ilk. As we do the same with our friends over a cup of coffee, they do it in the presence of some of the fastest and most powerful cars in the world. On paper, it seems fair to say that a Lamborghini Huracan has no chance against a Porsche 918 Spyder in a quarter mile race. The latter, after all, is far more powerful than its Italian counterpart. On one side of the strip is the Lamborghini Huracan. This supercar is powered by a 5. All that power is sent to the all four wheels, allowing the Italian bull to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just three seconds and hit a top sped of 202 mph. On the opposite site of the drag strip is the Porsche 918 Spyder. Together, the two systems work in concert to provide the 918 Spyder with 887 horsepower and 940 pound-feet of torque. That helps the German hypercar shoot from 0 to 62 mph in just 2. Line these two up side-by-side and just about everybody will pick the 918 Spyder in a full-on drag race against the Huracan. This begs the question whether this particular Huracan had some work done on its V-8 mill. As a bonus, four of the five cars also participated in an elimination-style drag race, with the winner taking on the supercar that has held the fastest drag record for a production vehicle for the better part of a decade. So, before the lap times were revealed, the drag race took place with the Porsche 918 Spyder taking on the and the duking it out with the LaFerrari. The results of the first round of the drag race saw the 918 Spyder and the P1 beating their respective opponents. Then it became a battle between the old guard taking on the new whippersnapper. Once the drag race title was settled, the lap times of all five hypercars were finally revealed. Not surprisingly, the Huayra, the least powerful of porsche 918 prijs five, came in dead last, posting a lap time of 1:23. In third place was the McLaren P1, which posted a lap time of 1:18. No spoilers on this one, too. What I will tell you is that the winner finished with a lap time of 1:18. The Hyper 5 series was fun to watch so I have to give credit to Salomon and his crew for taking the time to create it. Chris Harris is one of the most connected journos in the business and even he had some difficulty getting Porsche, McLaren, and Ferrari on board. Fortunately, his persistence paid off and the result is this. In it, Harris finally got the opportunity to drive, compare, and analyze the 918 Spyder, andall together in one race track. An event of such magnitude deserves as much time as can be filmed and Harris even tapped into a few buddies of his to help him sort through all the awesomeness provided by the troika of hybrid hypercars. Also in the episode are the engineers and mechanics of all three manufacturers. That pretty much tells you how seriously these companies are taking this test run. Engineers from McLaren and even had a little argument on the tires the P1 and LaFerrari would run in, but as Harris himself pointed out, everything was smoothened out by Pirelli and all three cars eventually took their respective moments in the spotlight. There are just too many things that happened that it might be best if viewers just watch it themselves. So sit back and enjoy the ride. Chris Harris finally gets to have his party, with the Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren P1, and Ferrari LaFerrari all in attendance. The Hyper 5 series is the creation of Salomon, otherwise known on the Internet as Salomondrin. So with porsche 918 prijs own resources, combined with steady contributions from the owners of the five hypercars in the film, Salomon decided to bring all of them together to see which one reigns supreme as the best of them all. The five supercars include the Bugatti Veyron, Pagani Huayra, Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1, and the Porsche 918 Spyder. Now, onto the second episode. Before even getting into one of the cars, Sofronas gave Salomon a few predictions on which he thought would be the quickest in the quarter-milewhich would be the hardest to drive Bugatti Veyronand best of all, which one would ultimately win the entire showdown Porsche 918 Spyder. Once all predictions were handed out, Sofronas went ahead and laid rubber with each of the five hype
