  12. of the old content to the new wordpress site, there will be thousands of pages that are not going to exist when Google tries to search. What is the best way to handle all the 404s that are going to happen so Google doesn't penalize us?

  19. 404 is good signal if the content actually ceases to exist.
  20. if you have similar stuff on new website, you can go for 301 redirects on categories and batches of pages on the same topic
