  2. Hi, We'd like to post a warning regarding Dogado / Cloudpit.io VPS provider.
  3. We used to have a VPS server with a company called Alvotech who were acquired by Dogado. This server was prepaid quarterly. During the migration from Alvotech to Dogado we were unable to access the new control panel. We contacted Dogado for support but as we couldn't login we moved our services elsewhere.
  4. This morning we received an email from a debt collection agency Dogado have instructed (Creditreform) to claim for 15 MONTHS of services that either we could not access or weren't provided after migration from Alvotech.
  5. They claim to have continued to provide a service for 15 month despite never receiving payment, and now passed the claim to a debt collection agency. We are unable to verify if they ever provided the services or if they were lost during the migration from Alvotech. Regardless, it is ridiculous that they continued to bill services for 15 months without payment, I can only imagine they do this to increase the claim from the debt collection agency.
  6. If you have ever had contact with Cloudpit.io / Dogado I advise you to check any services or invoices.
  7. Avoid Dogado at all costs.
  8. Sorry to hear about this -- though I'd like to point to Hanlon's razor - Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. It's possible they didn't validate the debt before handing it off to the debt collectors. That would be very stupid, but not necessarily intentionally malicious.
  9. I'd recommend:
  10. 1. Contact the provider stating your case and ask for their assistance in getting rid of the collection
  11. 2. Request that the debt collector validate the debt. If you're in the states, you have a legal right to that procedure

  15. We're talking with their support and but they are just sending us back to the debt collection agency. It's not a huge amount of money, but the business practices are upsetting. It's a shame they didn't pick up the phone any time in the past 15 months. It also makes me question why they've waited 15 months, why not leave it a few years and then try and get more cash. 15 months is an odd amount of time.
  16. It's upsetting that small VPS providers with happy customers are being bought by larger providers like Dogado who have poor customer service and the customers are frankly being abused. In my business I would never try and bill an acquired customer for 15 months services they couldn't access. Quite often I get contacted by customers who leave PayPal Subscriptions running and we almost always refund them if we can see they've genuinely not used the service - I didn't start a web business to screw people over. The idea of calling out debt collectors without prior contact is just abhorrent.

  18. More or less identical thing happened to me. Several days ago I've received e-mail (and some "ordinary mail") message from some local "debt collector", "extortionist", ... or whatever claiming that I owe some three hundred euros to Dogado for services that I've cancelled almost two years ago. Of course none of those "invoices" were ever sent to my e-mail address (all previous were sent, received and payed without any problems) and I have e-mail message from April 2017 signed by Dogado's CEO where he is accepting my cancellation. However, person who is asking for money does not accept any arguments and continues with kind of harassment. I've tried to contact Dogado's customer support and also send mail to their CEO asking for explanation and termination of harassment, but so far got no answer, except automated ones.
  19. So, I will be grateful for any kind of experience or advice what to do to stop that :-(

  21. I ended up emailing their customer support who were utterly useless, and escalated to:
  22. TIMO MANKARTZ (https://tmankartz.de) - Co-Founder and Director Customer Success. He describes himself as a #SERVICEGEEK but doesn't respond to emails. He ignores emails to: tm@dogado.de
  23. I also contacted Robin Tsch?pe - Founder and Managing Director who also ignores emails to rt@dogado.de
  24. I ended up paying, it's just so sad that German businesses in 2019 choose to conduct themselves in this manner.
  25. On Timo Mankartz website he has the statement "Sales go up and down - service stays forever!" - I can only imagine this is shortened from ""Service Stays forever - even if you cancel - and then we leave it a year and send in the debt collectors"

  34. But the fact the he ended up paying does not mean that scam is alleged ... it seems that this is Dogado's "modus operandi". They never sent me any of invoices that are now claiming were not paid. And, at for at the moment, they are ignoring my messages. I can not call that "alleged scam", but only "real scam" :-(

  44. Really sorry to hear such terrible experiences you guys got there. I would suggest ingnore such collection from those service, and if they started try to harrash you, bring it to court.
  45. 1st. You have the rights to do so, and refuse the payment for the service you did not use.
  46. 2nd. When you request for cancellation and already recieved the confirmation email from the service, you can use that email to back you up for the case at court.
  47. 3rd. They have no rights to physical harrashment you nor even verbal harrashment toward you, if they did, add this to the case.
