  1. My first miner

  3. Recently I took advantage of working in China and decided to buy a small miner. I picked the Antminer U3 to be my first because I found the price to be right. The total cost was 99 rmb for the miner and 18 rmb for the delivery, This comes out to be ~$18.00 USD total cost. The miner arrived today and it was boxed well, A foam packing material ensures it was well protected in its travels and it comes with almost everything you need to start mining. What was missing from the box was a power cord from the power supply to the wall. I had a spare computer cord to use for this and to be fair most websites indicate that they do not include the wire. However I do find it a bit annoying that they wouldn’t just purchase the wires for the top countries of export and just include it like they do for laptops and other electronics. Also not included was any software for the miner, It’s easily found online on multiple websites I use bitmain tech website to get the driver and cgminer needed for the the U3. As this is my first miner I also had to learn about pools and mining strategies. I ended up going with coinking.io for my first pool simply because it had a clean user interface and easy to use instructions. I will make a future post about my mining adventures and here is a few shots of the miner being unboxed.
