Content : Source: Manila Bulletin (Internet Edition) Subject of News Report: "French firm and ICTSI bid to operate Bissau port" Date of Publication: Jul 25, 2017 Clarification of News Report: “Bissau – French firm Necotrans and the Philippines’ International Container Terminal Services submitted bids on Monday to operate Guinea Bissau’s main port, the transport minister said, as the government looks to cede control to a private operator. .... ‘The French company Necotrans and the Philippines’ ICTSI are neck- and-neck to exploit the commercial port of Bissau,’ Transport Minister Fidelis Forbes told reporters in Bissau. The government will select the operator next month, he said. The winner of the contract will also pay the 5.9 million euro ($6.9 million) debt the government was ordered by an arbitrator to compensate Tertir for breaking its contract, Forbes said. ....” As previously disclosed, ICTSI continues to review and explore opportunities in the container port industry globally. In connection with this, we wish to confirm that ICTSI is participating in the tender process for a long term concession to operate Guinea Bissau’s main port which commenced in 2015. This is part of ICTSI’s ordinary course of business of acquiring, developing, managing and operating container ports and terminals worldwide. We shall make a proper disclosure on any of these opportunities, including the one in Guinea Bissau, as and when appropriate.
