Hi guys - first of all I'm sorry if this shouldn't really be here but I want to reach as many experienced microscope users as possible, before someone else snaps up this item...
I'm thinking about parting with a relatively large part of my meagre income for a decent microscope. I've already decided I want up to 2000x (might settle for 1500x), with an oil immersion objective, and some kind of digital imaging capable of making measurement.
First of all, please no-one swoop in there and buy it before me!!!
So I've found a number of suitable scopes, but this one in particular really caught my eye. It's a bit crazy but I like that and the price is good. Here it is:
So as you can see two people can look through at the same time, not something I really need but a cool bonus! He says the width adjustment between the secondary eye pieces is broken, but as it's just a bonus I'm ok with that. I thought I could hook up a camera to that side to save me going trinocular
Also apparently the lamp is a little temperamental, but I'm sure it'll be easy to fix/replace.
Anyway, I've asked if the 97x objective is oil immersion or not so I'm waiting to hear back on that. I should think it must be as it looks like a high quality scope. And I asked about eyepieces but I'm guessing it just comes with two pairs of 10x, so I'll need to buy some 20x. I also need to find out about a mechanical stage.
Apart from the points I've already raised, can anyone experienced give their opinions on this bad-boy? Anything I'm missing?
Thanks a lot
