No.3 seed Madison Keys thumped out reigning Wimbledon champion Garbiñe Muguruza in straight sets to achieve the last at the Bank of the West Classic.
Keys required simply under a hour to seal the 6-3, 6-2 triumph, snapping the Spaniard's nine-coordinate winning streak.
Top seeded Muguruza had sliced an imperious way to the Stanford elimination rounds, anxious to get back on court after her Grand Slam achievement and dodge the baffling droop she confronted after her 2016 French Open triumph.
