After Earth is a 2013 American science fiction film directed by M. Night Shyamalan that he co-wrote with Gary Whitta based on an original story idea by Will Smith. It stars real-life father and son Will and Jaden Smith as Cypher and Kitai Raige, with Will Smith also acting as producer, and is distributed by Columbia Pictures and available on IMAX.
