Monsoons are pleasant for those who have the pleasure to sit at home enjoying the wonderful rains with a cup of tea and some fritters to go with it. But have you wondered about the lives of traffic policemen who have to brave it out, working under the open sky - be it the rain or the sun, nothing stops these bravehearts. Stories of utter dedication of these traffic policemen have emerged recently, thanks to the social media. A recent Facebook video posted by a user shows a policeman controlling the traffic in West Delhi’s Paschim Vihar under heavy downpour. The video which was shot by a youth from his car shows the man standing in the rain, controlling the traffic and to top it all he is seen pushing a car which probably broke down. As we know that Delhi becomes even more chaotic during the rains but nothing seems to have daunted this braveheart.
Hindustan Times had reported a similar story earlier where two traffic policemen were seen on the streets, controlling the traffic without waterproof footwear. This is a very common sight during the monsoon when the traffic police go out of their way to keep the chaos under control. Another such instance was reported by Indian Express when a Haryana policeman was seen barefoot on the streets controlling vehicles. When Rakesh Kumar was asked the reason behind it, he replied saying that he has only a pair of boots which he cannot afford to get soiled.
